When and how did your interest in fashion begin?
As a child, I grew up running barefoot, climbing trees and always wearing dungarees with mud on them. My passion for fashion only started during my teenage years. The Spice Girls were my inspiration, I was fascinated by their style and uniqueness. From then on there were lots of Buffalo boots, Vogue magazine and bare belly tops, even in winter. Poor Daddy...

How do you best transform a daily look into a party look?
I lighten up the outfit by removing a few layers, add a touch of red lipstick and a stiletto heel.
What is an ideal must-have bag for both daytime and evening?
Such as the LBD (Little Black Dress) the LBB (Little Black Bag). You can't go wrong.
What is your favourite piece from the new Aquazzura handbag collection?
Really difficult question to answer, but I would say the Tequila Clutch. Its colours take me back to summer sunsets, my feet in the sand and my Aquazzura clutch in my hands.

Fashion month has just ended, is there any new trend that particularly caught your eye?
Surely the indie style, I've been waiting for it to come back into fashion. Oversized t-shirts and faded eyeliner in perfect Kate Moss style.
As a shoe enthusiast, what do you think makes a pair truly unique?
Wearing a nice pair of shoes can really make you feel invincible. They infuse you with confidence and positivity. There is so much in a shoe. I could run a marathon in my Aquazzuras, they are like a second skin to me.
Which shoes are a must-have in your wardrobe?
The shoes I still wear the most are from the collaboration I did years ago with Aquazzura. The collection was inspired by my passion for the moon and the stars. My favourite pairs are gold with laces around the ankle. I've even slept in them a few times.
What is your favourite place? That place where you go to take a break?
I have a new cottage in the country, it is small and cosy with a fireplace that is always lit. Here I take long, reflective walks, eat roast chicken and indulge in rejuvenating hot baths.
How did your passion for shoes and luxury craftsmanship start?
Already in my childhood, I was surrounded by women who passed on their passion for fashion to me. I remember that my mum loved to wear heels had a very refined style and always accompanied by a nice pair of shoes. Ever since I was a child, I have loved drawing, and shoes soon became a passion. A natural evolution of my love for fashion. I think shoes are like a mirror of a woman's soul. They convey emotions and can really change the personality of the wearer. Just think of a fairy tale like Cinderella, to understand the importance of shoes in a woman's life. A shoe can change your posture, the way you move and behave... I find this extremely interesting.
What has been the greatest challenge for you in making shoes?
The greatest challenge and also my main goal has been to be able to make shoes that are at the same time beautiful, feminine and comfortable.

Without revealing any secrets, could you give us a hint as to what makes a pair of shoes simultaneously stylish and comfortable?
First of all, I hired the best craftsmen who have been making shoes for over 40 years. Together, we have developed lasts that fit well and distribute the weight of the body not only on the front but on the whole arch of the foot. In addition, we apply memory foam padding to the insole so that the result is even softer when you walk. Comfort is an essential part of the design, several fitting tests are made to correct and reshape the shoe to provide the perfect fit.
Aquazzura has lately entered new categories of accessories, and has also launched the Casa line. What similarities are there between shoes and interior design?
The search for beauty... if you are decorating your home or setting the table for a dinner party, what you have to pay attention to is the colour scheme, the combination of fabrics, the materials... interior design is also about style and aesthetics just like making a shoe.
And after shoes, bags and home, what would you like to explore next?
The world of eyewear and fragrances. I think you can do something really fun and special in these areas.
What's a trip you'd like to take that you haven't done yet?
I'd like to explore Antarctica. I try to take a unique and adventurous trip once a year, and this destination really seems to be one of the most exciting and adventurous.
