Mother and Daughter Interview
Here, for Aquazzura, Alex and her mother Mer Creus talk about their relationship, their love for art and design and their idea of style.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE TO DO TOGETHER?
Alex:
We love spending time together; we are not only mother and daughter but also and above all great friends. We like to have tea in the afternoon and chat, go for long walks in nature, travel... we are also very passionate about art and design, so we love to keep up to date by visiting new exhibitions.
Mer:
Everything we do together is fun! Even if we are different we have many passions in common, we have a great complicity. We like to "feed" ourselves with everything related to art and aesthetics.
WHAT ARE YOU SIMILAR TO AND WHAT ARE YOU DIFFERENT IN?
Mer:
We have many things in common, such as our passion for art, design and fashion. We are both very sensitive people. Alex, however, has a very strong character like her father, she is very stubborn and dedicated to work and when she is focused on something she gives it her all. She is a hard worker and can never sit still, she always needs a purpose and a new project to do.
In my case, maybe because I am older, I am in a different place in life where I appreciate the 'slow-life', a good book and nature. I still work on some interior design projects that I am really excited about, but at a different pace.
Alex:
My mother and I share many passions, most importantly, we love to share them all. He raised me strictly to make sure I had the right values, so we have a lot in common when it comes to making big decisions and life milestones.
Personality-wise, I'm more like my father... very determined and stubborn, and I can never sit still, always looking for new opportunities!
WHICH STYLE OF SHOE CAN'T BE MISSING IN YOUR WARDROBE?
Mer & Alex: Sandals with thin straps, in black or nude.
SHARE YOUR CLOTHES? AND SHOES?
Alex:
Since I was a teenager I have always rummaged through my mother's closet to "steal" her shoes and bags.
Luckily for me we are the same size in everything - except shoes - I am a size smaller but I have still managed to wear some of her shoes.
Mer:
Now that Alex works in fashion, I am taking my little "revenge" by sneaking into her closet sometimes too (haha). We are both very careful and we like to take care of our things, so it's very nice to be able to share.
WHAT MAKES YOU MOST PROUD?
Alex:
My family, there is nothing more precious.
Mer:
My daughter, she is my greatest treasure.
