Edgardo's Capri City Guide

"There is something magical about this place that makes me happy and that's why I return every year: because of the incredible energy that this place gives off, because of the excellent food, and because it's just a wonderful place. I feel like I live in the atmosphere of the Dolce Vita when I'm in Capri."

WHERE TO STAY:

  • JK Place Hotel: when I’m in Capri my home is always at JK Place.
  • Capri Tiberio Palace: it’s the best place to stay if you want to be in the center of Capri. I love the mix of contemporary and retro design in this Dolce Vita inspired hotel.

WHERE TO GO AND WHAT TO VISIT:

  • La Fontelina Beach Club: set in one of the most iconic spots of Capri, during the day I love chilling here and enjoying the sea, the amazing panorama and my favourite pasta vongole e bottarga.
  • One of my favorite things to do in the island is hiking in the early morning or around sunset time. Hike up to beautiful Villa Lysis for one of the best views of Capri.
  • Rent a local day boat or ‘Gozzo’ in Italian and head to nearby Nerano for lunch in one of my favorite places in the Amalfi coast ‘Lo Scoglio’. This family run institution has some of the best pasta and vegetables I’ve ever had.

WHERE TO EAT:

  • Il Riccio in Anacapri: my favorite restaurant in Capri. Arrive early to have a sunset drink in their beautiful terrace overlooking the Island of Ischia. Also make sure to discover the best dessert room in Italy that will make you dream of coming back.
  • Villa Margherita: very charming terrace overlooking Marina Piccola, it’s a great place for a relaxing dinner after a day at the beach.
  • Da Aurora: their famous “Pizza all’acqua” is my favorite pizza in the world! It’s paper thin and super crispy.
  • Le Grottelle: ideal for a full moon night, this hidden gem (it’s a 20 min hike from the town so wear flats) is a place loved by all the locals.
  • Da Gelsomina: here you can tast the best traditional island cuisine.
  • Bar Grotta Azzurra in Anacapri: if you are looking for the best ice cream in Capri you have to come here, for sure my favourite!

WHERE TO DRINK:

  • Hotel Quisisana Terrace: When I’m in Capri, in the early evening I love to stay here and sip a Spicy Margarita to start a fun summer night.
  • Have an after-dinner drink at Bar Tiberio in Capri's Piazzetta.
  • Anema e Core: a really unique night club with a retro vibe where you can and dance the night away to old Italian songs.

WHERE TO SHOP:

  • Ceramiche Tavassi: beautiful handmade ceramics full of style.
  • 100% Capri: the best Linen shirts in Italy. I live in their beautiful shirts all summer long.
  • Aquazzura Boutique: Of course, for the best shoes in town!
