CRAFTSMANSHIP
The luxury of artisan crafting
Aquazzura's headquarters are located in Palazzo Corsini, in the heart of Florence, surrounded by some of the best shoemakers and artisans in the world.
All of Edgardo Osorio's distinctive designs are brought to life in the Tuscan shoemaking workshops, where master craftsmen work mostly by hand using traditional techniques and selecting the highest quality materials. The direct relationship between the designer and the artisans is the key to an impeccable result: each shoe is crafted as a small work of art, with love, passion and an extreme focus on details.
Striking the perfect balance between tradition and modernity, the brand's signature styles—including the “Sexy Thing 105”, the “Wild Thing 105”, the “Christy Flat”, the “Powder Puff” and, most recently, the “Bow Tie Pump” styles—have become instantly iconic, offering a new definition of luxury footwear.
Handmade in Italy to exquisite perfection
From idea to reality, an Aquazzura shoe can take up to 6 months to craft, with each step of the process requiring a specific expertise.
Osorio's sketches are interpreted by the pattern makers, who develop the design and create a unique mold. New styles are perfected with millimetric precision to achieve a balanced fit and maximum lightness. The last and shape are specially developed to distribute the weight of the body throughout the foot, making the Aquazzura heel incredibly comfortable to wear. Additionally, the soles are enriched with cushioned padding.
A single pair can include up to 30 different components that are hand-assembled to exacting standards—the upper is cut and stitched from soft leathers or refined fabrics, while each sole is emblazoned with the brand's distinctive symbol, a golden pineapple. As a final step, each completed pair is hand-checked to ensure the statement finish Aquazzura is known for.
