THE DESIGNER

Edgardo Osorio

Edgardo Osorio is the Founder and Creative Director of Aquazzura. Born in Colombia and raised between Miami and London, where he attended the London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins, Osorio takes his first steps in the world of luxury footwear by working for prestigious fashion houses.
Ten years of experience in the industry and his innate passion for designing shoes pave the way for the launch of Aquazzura in 2011. Combining Osorio's unique creative flair and innovative vision — to create shoes that are not just beautifully crafted, but also extremely comfortable — Aquazzura collections immediately gain international recognition.
Ranging from timeless high-heel pumps and sandals to sophisticated flats with chic, playful details, Osorio's signature styles are claimed as must-have shoes by top influencers and fashion press worldwide.

Osorio's penchant for modern design and elements of symbolic value translates into his drawings: the emblem of the golden pineapple was chosen by the designer for its multiple meanings, including hospitality and beauty, and for being a good luck charm.
The name 'Aquazzura' is inspired by Osorio's love for the sea, and specifically for the crystal-clear waters of the Italian island of Capri. His designs evoke a new 'Dolce Vita', deeply linked to Italian craftsmanship with an unmistakable, contemporary twist.
